Kim Petty

Kim Petty creates with an implict understanding that nature and her nature are not distinct. Her paintings are a highly skilled expression of pure intuition that she has learned to trust and able to realize through more than thirty years of study and practice. Whether they be ethereal landscapes or pure abstractions, her paintings evoke passion, longing, a foreboading sense of uncertainty, and the shear majesty of life - often with the same confluence of brushstrokes. Kim holds a Bachelor's degreee in fine art from the University of North Texas and she has studied extensively in Japan. She primarily works with oil and watercolor on canvas, hancrafted paper, or birch panels, but has created numerous works utilizing a variety of mediums including charcoal, encaustic, and printmaking techniques.

Carylon Cooper

Chattanooga, Tennessee

In 1948 Carylon Cooper was born in Detroit Michigan. From there she moved to Nashville, Tennessee with her family. She received her artistic instruction from Middle State University and University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She also studied at the Vermont Studio Center and the Glen Workshop in Santa Fe, NM. After college, Cooper left the art community for a time to raise a family and also to raise awareness of the need for physical fitness programs for Chattanooga. For her efforts in the latter she received the Governor's award for physical fitness. When Cooper got back into the art scene it was primarily as a printmaker, employing repeated patterns as her theme. She managed to produce a great number of artistic variations through light field applications of ink. Often she accentuated parts of the print by using oil sticks. Due to the obvious size limitation in the field of printmaking, Cooper turned to the canvas where she could produce images with more daring. Like many colorists her works include figurative studies as well as interior landscapes. Cooper has a strong desire to make art that is honest: pure, simple, an unadorned expression of her spiritual belief that God created a beautiful existence. She wants to glorify his goodness through an art that is bold, unyielding, physical, and ultimately fulfilling.

Susan Colwell

Lisa Upchurch Moore was born and raised in Northwest Georgia. Surrounded by artists, educators and free thinkers, Lisa was taught to look at the world in a way that enabled her to appreciate the beauty and wonder that surrounds all of us.

Lisa's weighty use of color in depicting bucolic southern landscapes has earned her accolades from celebrated designers, collectors and her peers, including two juried best-in-show awards. Her work has been featured in multiple decorator show houses, annually in Saks Fifth Avenue, over 100 art shows, and is currently on display in fine art galleries throughout the Southeast.

Wendy Whitson

Asheville, North Carolina

A North Carolina native, Wendy worked in the fields of graphic design and photography for many years, before coming full circle to painting. She moved from Atlanta, GA to Asheville in 1999 and later rented a studio in the River Arts District.

Wendy's work is in many private and corporate collections including Charles Frazier, author of Cold Mountain, the Four Seasons, Jackson Hole, WY, the Ritz Carlton, Shenzehn, China and the Biltmore Estate, here in Asheville. Her original paintings are available through The Wells Gallery at the Sanctuary on Kiawah Island, SC, and her studio in the River Arts District.

Andrea Costa

Atlanta, Georgia

Andrea Costa's rural roots and endless love affair with the land and water are the source from which she approaches each painting by exploring the underlying narrative metaphor, and emotion of the landscape. Her exhibitions have been met with great success, most recently in a group exhibition at the Bill Lowe Gallery.

Her landscapes, transcendent and transformative, offer the viewer a moment to pause, to breathe and reflect, lifting the viewers spirit while embracing the paintings beauty.

Laura Lloyd Fontaine

Charleston, South Carolina

Laura Lloyd Fontaine is best known for her contemporary impressionist paintings of Lowcountry marshlands and landscapes. Working mostly with oil glazes on large gallery wrapped canvas, Laura creates atmosphere, intensity and depth by layering colors over textured surfaces.

Laura was named Kiawah Island's Featured Artist of the Year in 2015 and regularly demonstrates, participating in talks and workshops in galleries around the Southeast.
