Living Room Accents

Living Room AccentsQuestion:

I am so happy my mom shared your catalog with me. I have already ordered counter stools and chair pads for my kitchen counter island. Now I plan on moving room to room to stay with the latest trends. There are so many wonderful collections and so well put together.

My current dilemma is my living room, which adjoins the dining room. I am hoping you can help me accent my living room with additional furniture pieces, wall decor and accessories. I have my great great grandmother’s antique claw foot walnut couch and matching chair with a gold and red stripe.

The pieces from your catalog I like are the Louis XVI Oval Back Arm Chair, Louis XV Salon Chair, the Beregere Chair and Ottoman, Chambord Demilune and Louis Sunburst Mirror. I am not sure if any of these pieces would work. Please give me your design expertise.

Living Room AccentsThanks so much for your help.

Answer:

Dear Lisa,

We are so happy that you love our catalog and would like us to provide you with some suggestions to finish off your living room. Family heirlooms can add such wonderful tradition to a room. We have some ideas that will help to blend the old with the new in a fresh and vibrant way. Our first task is rearranging the space. We would like to see the settee centered in front of your double window. If at all possible, remove the curio cabinet in the corner and repurpose it into another part of the house. On both sides of the settee place a 30” Terrific Trio Table covered in Butter Twill. We chose our Fusee Tall Table Lamps in Weathered Black to be placed on top of each table to balance the look. Next, try placing the matching chair squared against the far right wall (facing the foyer). Above the chair to the left of the bay, we selected the Vine Cutout Plaque to add some interest and height. Now place your coffee table in front of the settee for a finished conversation area.

Our next task, the bay window area. We would love to see the Ansley Bench covered in Gold Pomeroy centered in the bay. To the right of the bay, the Dehavilland 2-Drawer Console in Mahogany will anchor that area of the room, and placing the Louis Sunburst Mirror above is a winning combination. Across from the bay area is a great reading space, just waiting for a Beregere Chair and Ottoman cornered into the room and again covered in Gold Pomeroy. To the left of the chair, place our St. Marie Side Table in Walnut with a smart reading lamp – like our Columbia Table Lamp – on top. On the wall to the right of the chair, 3 of our Individual Klimt Landscape Prints placed one over the other will round out the look of the room.

All in all, we think these suggestions will help you to create the kind of living space you are looking for. Please let us know your thoughts, and if we can be of any further assistance.

Sincerely,
The Style Studio Team
