We have a lot of beige!!! I would like to add some color (maybe brighter greens, lavender, or grey). And some modern touches ( like your new lavender Ikat fabrics or artwork). My current breakfast chairs are airy so I would like to keep them, but I have considered painting them or possibly the pendants or chandelier. What would you suggest I do with my bar stools? Also the two upper cabinets next to the wine rack are unfinished since I can’t decide if they should have glass or overlays or something else that won’t make it all too busy.

Hi Beth,
With a few added pieces here and there, it is simple to achieve a modern freshness in your kitchen. We like your suggestion of using green to bring freshen this area. We would start by replacing your counter stools with our Constance Metal Counter Stools. Add bright cushions made out of Solidad Green Easycare fabric. Next, plant a row of 3 whimsically-sized Terra-Cotta Pears in green. Now for a great lighting update, try our Sawyer 1-light pendants. As for your unfinished cabinet doors, consider trying seeded glass inserts. This style glass won’t distract from the rest of the kitchen.
Start the change in your table area by adding a fabulous piece of art. We suggest either the Snowbirds & Blossoms Hand-Painted Canvas or, for little stronger color, try In Plain Sight Hand Painted Canvas. Either piece of art will set a fabulous tone for your space. Recover your cushions with our Callisto Stripe Green and then paint your chairs the green color of the fabric stripe. Another recommendation tucking the Vineyard Stripe Rug in natural underneath your table. Why not really shake things up with your lighting by replacing your chandelier with the Marisol 6-Light Chandelier. If painting your existing light fixture is more your style, then we recommend painting it a white sand color and adding drum-style linen chandelier shades.
We look forward to seeing the results of your fresh kitchen space. We know you will have great fun in the process!
Happy Decorating!
