I don’t know what to do with this corner without spending a lot of money on a new chair etc. The chair we have is too small for the space, and the slip cover is awful. I would like an idea for how to fill the corner using the chair I have, with a new slipcover, if needed, and the right accessories.

Hi,
Believe it or not, you are on the right path. The easiest fix is to add height to the corner with wall décor. We think the Suzanne Kasler Set of 3 Sunburst Mirrors would look great in this space. You can hang them in a collage or in a vertical line on the same wall as the cabinet. Lose the bulky blanket and go with a smaller throw pillow in a color that complements your Tuscan-inspired decor, such as sage, rust or gold. Station a Garden Seat in white to the right of the chair and stack three books on top. And if you happen to have a book on Tuscany, well, that would be perfect!
Should you decide to change the slipcover, keep in mind that you do need to choose a color that pops that won’t blend into the wall or be too matchy-matchy with the cherry cabinet. You also want to stick to the Tuscan palette, as discussed above. For inspiration, look at our Document Ink or Microfiber Sage fabrics.

I am looking for a dark gray that looks good with light pewter on top of the chair rail, in my daughters family room in basement with slidi g doors as only natural light source. The dark color would go on bottom. This room has very “uneven lines.” The fireplace is off centered ,plus it has the chair rail and different ceiling heights.I am trying to unify it and make it warm and cozy. The light pewter on top has to stay.

Denise,
One thing that would help ‘even’ everything out is to pick one color and do the same on all of your mouldings and your walls. This will help everything blend together and will certainly create that warm and cozy vibe you’re after. Since you have one color on the top that you’d like to keep. I’d recommend using that same wall color on everything in the room (mouldings, walls, etc.)
Best of luck,
Caroline

Leann: Depending on the size of the tree, a corner is usually a great spot for this decorative piece. We suggest placing the tree in a container … according to the personality of your room. Now, start hanging wall decor, beside your tree, that reflects your styling preferences. Whimsical … hang a group of unexpected pieces like our Patterned Perch Art along with our Quad Clock. Traditional … try our Patchwork Prints combined with Suzanne Kaslers’ Sunburst Mirrors. Decorative trees aren’t too demanding with whom they are paired, so add items that speak to your heart. My mother in law bought me a decorative stick tree with lights on it. It is beautiful but have no idea what other decorations could go with it. Very frustrated and need some ideas for this corner tree….
