Hi Style Studio,
I am redecorating my living room, going from more formal to practical and casual. I have a very large wall in the room with a high ceiling. I am at a loss as to how to decorate above the sofa.
I have a collection of framed paintings there presently but it looks too busy and cluttered. Any ideas?

When hanging multiple frames in a collection and things are just not looking right, consider the following tips as you critique your collection…
1. Consider framing all the pieces in the same color or style of frame.
2. Keep the same spacing around all the pieces to create a grid format.
3. In the collection, consider whether or not there is a piece that proportionately seems to scream louder than all other pieces. If so, try removing that piece.
For your wall, we first suggest moving the largest piece to another area and then rearranging what is left. Also, consider bumping the entire group down from the ceiling several inches to create some “breathing room” near the top of the wall. Sometimes trying different approaches, until the collection looks right, is the best path to a restful solution …
