With Designer Bill Peace
The Atlanta Food and Wine Festival is an all-out celebration of Southern roots and hospitality. The four-day culinary festival spotlights some of the brightest talent in Southern food, wine and spirits and hosts food seminars, cooking demonstrations and tastings throughout the weekend.
As a sponsor of the festival for the second year in a row, we were lucky enough to outfit special event areas, including the exclusive Connoisseur Lounge. We teamed up with award-winning designer, William Peace of Peace Design, to create an aesthetic that was every bit as delicious as the bites and sips.
William’s inspiration for the stunning lounge was the quintessential Southern hunting lodge with a modern edge. “We want it to feel very Southern, have a sense of tradition and also have a look toward the future,” said the designer.
This meant lots of rich woods (William even had the carpet covered with wood flooring) and tufted seating mixed in with more contemporary elements: boldly colored velvets, large-scale nail head trim and edgy animal prints. Pieces from our Italian-made Casa Florentina collection rounded out the look nicely, providing classic styling with a clean-lined simplicity.
Creating a comfortable and inviting space to mingle was key, so we set up a variety of seating and eating vignettes, each offering a unique perspective.
“We are in the south, and we want this to be the best of the best of Southern experiences,” William said.
