Sunroom Decorating Dilemma

Dear Style Studio,

I am looking to purchase window treatments to go in my sun room.

I have the beautiful Livonia rug in ivory and Lourdes chandelier from Ballard’s. I plan on getting honeycomb blinds that are the same cream color as the sectional to cover the large windows.

Can you please recommend window treatments (panels) from Ballard’s that would look nice with my Livonia rug? The wall color is “blanched almond” from Benjamin Moore.

I also will need a side table and ottoman.

Thank you very much!

– Kelly

Hi Kelly,

Your cozy corner is charming and will provide the perfect sunlit spot for reading and entertaining when complete! The Livonia Rug looks fabulous with the walls and current furniture.

Since you have several windows, let’s keep your window panels subtle by using the Quatrefoil Embroidered Burlap Panel in natural.

Next, bring in the Bornova Side Table in brown and place it to the left of the sectional. Then, add the Durham Nesting Tables to the right of the sectional. Different wood finishes within a space will allow your eyes many interesting surfaces to absorb.

Our idea for your ottoman is adding two of our Leather Cubes in mineral instead of one large piece. Doing this will provide flexibility with how the ottoman pieces are used … you never know when several unexpected guest will stop by for a visit.

Another suggestion we have is to incorporate a side chair for additional seating. Because of the size of your conversational space, an upholstered side chair would function perfectly. We like the Edwards Library Chair as a fabulous option.

Another thought … the Grand Bouquet Plaque in white is a piece that we think you should add above your windows on your large wall. Because you have a cathedral style ceiling, this piece will showcase exquisitely in that space.

Also, consider lowering your painting above the table and then add a smaller piece of art above it. Making this little adjustment will provide a visual association between your art and the table.

Always remember to add good lighting, like our Malia Seeded Lamp in amber, and plenty of patterned pillows as eye candy on your sectional. These are the little details that will really pull the room together for a finished look!

Happy Decorating!
