Accent Pieces For A Living Room

Dear Style Studio Team,

I have a dilemma about what accent pieces would look good with my current furniture. I don’t have Ballard furniture, but I have purchased curtains and accent pieces from Ballard.

As seen in the below picture, I am thinking of adding a leopard print chair to the room and was wondering if you think it would look right.

I also am trying to decide on a paint color. I have large 15-foot ceilings at both ends of the room. What do you think? The room is now arranged around my round rug and fireplace. The paisley chair is like an Ashley paisley pattern that you carry.

Best,

Pam

Pam,

The fantastic thing about Ballard products, there are always beautiful things that will blend perfectly into most decorating styles.

Consider painting your walls a soft khaki color … possibly a shade from your rug. When we consider your rug, we think you should consider a size that is proportional to your room. We recommend moving your round rug to the entryway. Now add a rectangular rug in front of your sofa that the width is at least the same width of your hearth … our Sennah Rug is a brilliant choice. Doing this will visually draw your furniture closer together creating a comfortable conversational group.

Next, flank your sofa with the two existing basket end tables and then pull up our Durham Cocktail table in front of the sofa. We think a dark finish side table, like the Olivia Side Table, would work better next to your existing print chair and then adding a Strasbourg Chair in Cheetah will give the group a touch of drama.

Above the sofa, replace the candle artwork with our French Flowers Floral Art and then flank the artwork with candle wall sconces. We suggest placing one of our stunning mirrors over your mantel to reflect natural light throughout the space.

For final touches, we recommend adding in Luciana Table Lamps in Sage along with beautiful drapery panels draped to the outside edge of each window. Our Burlap Crewel Trellis Panels are a stunning option for that task.

Happy Decorating … oh and we love to see “after” pictures!
