Dear Style Studio Team,
We are a family with a 2-year-old and have no need for a formal living room. We thought that the area would be most used as a casual dining space with a sitting area that opens up to my son’s play area.
Can you help with some design ideas that are family friendly and use this space the best?

Kristin,
You have a beautiful space … a little tweak and it will be perfect for family activities. We think you should move the dining table and chairs to the area in front of the French doors. You can add storage in the space, if needed, and beautiful artwork to the walls for a lively new look.
The large sectional appears to be over-sized for the space. We suggest replacing it with a sofa and two side chairs. Our Graham Sofa in Basket Weave Oatmeal Easy Care is a comfy sofa and a fantastic option. Upholstering it with easy care fabric, it’s maintenance will be simple for an active family.
