For the last four years, Ballard Designs has been the proud sponsor of the annual Art & Antiques Show presented by the Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital. The all-volunteer organization, made up of nearly 400 members, has raised more than $23 million since 1973 for the imperative facility improvements, state-of-the-art equipment, and specialty programs at the Wolfson Children’s Hospital. The Art & Antiques Show is one of the major benefits for the organization and raises over $1 million in funds for the hospital.

Impressions of India was the theme of the 2013 event and the Ballard Designs team created vibrant vignettes throughout the venue, incorporating bright colors and bold patterns in each space. Ballard Designs product was seen in various seating areas, the book nook, the pastry café and the restrooms.

Art and Antiques 2013 -- the Ballard Lounge

The Lounge

The main lounge serves as a place to relax, chat with friends, and enjoy a cocktail. In this area, we featured a color palette inspired by our Sybil Plum fabric, which was used on a pair of our Griffin Club Chairs and on throw pillows throughout the space.

Two Griffin sofas upholstered in bright coral were used to create symmetry while a variety of accent tables made room for resting drinks.

The Sitting Area

The sitting area echoed the lounge in its color palette of purple and coral with a backdrop of drapery panels. Lots of textures were used to give this vibrant color palettes a coziness, like woven lamp shades, baskets, and lots of complementary patterns.

The Book Nook

The book nook had a much more masculine, library feel to it by mixing together lots of furniture pieces with rich wooden tones as well as patterns that featured rusty oranges.

The Pastry Cafe

A worn wooden bench draped in Kantha quilts feels exotic and inviting, especially when paired with a few sets of our Cafe Folding Tables. We mixed together a selection of rich velvets and indoor/outdoor throw pillows, along with pillows made from traditional Kantha quilts, to give the bench a softness.
