Design Dilemma: Lee-Ann’s Sunroom

Decorating Dilemmas is a weekly column in which our stylists answer your design questions, so you can tackle your home decorating project with complete confidence.

Dear How to Decorate,

I have always loved my sunroom, but I had black and white toile slipcovers for my parsons chairs. I ordered new ones from Ballard Designs in spa/mineral color, and now I need a new color and/or ideas for windows. Can you help?

Thanks,
Lee-Ann D.

Dear Lee-Ann,

What a great looking room! We do have a few suggestions to help you make the changes you want to the sunroom. How about a rug under the table? We chose our Parish Indoor/Outdoor Rug in spa.  The walls appear to be yellow – so we are suggesting that you change to Benjamin Moore’s Glacier Blue 1653 with white trim to keep things crisp and fresh.

As far as the curtains, we think our Timur fabric in Seafoam made into Roman Shade Valances would add that extra “pop” of color you are looking for.  We slipcovered your Parsons Chairs with our Spa Linen to add some texture.  Try hanging our Giclee called Paisley Love II to add some whimsy.  We also added a couple of Charleston Lanterns (large & small) to place on the table.

We hope that we have helped you to transform your sunroom into a “spa retreat”.

Happy Decorating
