When our creative and merchandising teams begin planning for a new season, our inspirations are largely driven, as you might imagine, by color! Whether we’re feeling inspired by neutrals and washed color palettes or spaces built primarily around natural textures, color is the foundation for the looks you see in our catalog.
With color on the brain, we designed four color palettes for this season, some which you might see reflected on the pages of our most recent catalog, and others inspired by new products!
Palette #1: Natural & Neutral
In the color palette above, we chose soft, natural colors with textural patterns to create a warm, sophisticated look. For a neutral space like this one, a rug, like our Parish Gray Rug (1), with a subtle pattern brings texture but without being loud. Next, we brought in three of our newest fabrics, all in similar hues, and blended them with out classic Trilby Basketweave fabric in Drift (2) for a cohesive, but interesting feel. We opted for the new our Demere Stripe in Natural (3); our Audrey fabric in Gray (4); and Belize Taupe (5) for a palette that is interesting, but still subdued. To round out this look, we chose accessories, like our Garden Relic Table Lamp (6) and our Garden Suite Prints (7).

Palette #2: Layers of Lavender
This winter, we’re launching 10 new colors in our signature velvet, one of which is a soft, but still regal-looking lavender. This scrumptious shade of purple inspired our whole palette. For complementary fabrics, we chose our Signature Velvet in Lavender (3), our Emerson Stripe in Lavender (5), and for a slightly graphic punch, our Kelly fabric in Lavender. Because they are all in the same shade, it’s easy to mix these different patterns together. To ground the space, we chose our Bella Rug (4) for its warm taupes and soft touches of gray and blue. For accessories, we chose a gilded mirror, our Beaudry Mirror (7), to echo the regal feel of our purple palette, as well as our Tranquil Pond Landscape print (3) which features delicate touches of purple for a perfectly cohesive look.

Palette #3: Sunset Inspired
With warm oranges and cool blues, this palette is a perfectly balanced combination of colors. Our Timur Orange fabric (2) is the real wow in this color palette, with complimentary fabrics like our Microfiber fabric in Mandarin (3), our Alex fabric in Mist (5), and our Deville fabric in Seafoam (6). With this color palette, we chose our Indoor/Outdoor Parish Rug in Spa (1), and as the cherry on top, we picked a gorgeous abstract print, Iron Oxide by artist Kari Taylor.

Palette #4: Calm Oasis
This season, we’re introducing a variety of accessories in a watery, vintage-inspired glass. We love the soft colors and the vintage, coastal charm they bring to a space. With our new Glass Candle Holders (7) as our inspiration, we chose fabrics in blues and grays, like our Alex fabric in Beige (2), our Signature Velvet in Spa (3), our Signature Velvet in Mineral (4), and our Sahara fabric in Spa (5). Paired with our Davenport Sofa and topped with our Emerald Lake Giclee print (1), we love the way this color palette feels cohesive, but not matchy.

Hello…
I love your decorating ideas. Do you give ideas to Ballard customers? If so, I have put a lot of chocolate brown into my house that was once decorated in more Khaki colors. All the way to putting a large chocolate brown sectional in my great room. I would like to incorporate gray. How can I do this? I need to paint the Khaki walls and I was thinking gray. If you have any ideas please let me know.
Thank you in advance!!
