March – April 2014 Paint Colors

Gray bedroom with canopy bed

Because we shoot in real homes, we are not always at liberty to paint the walls. In those cases, we have chosen paint colors that best match the wall color in the photo. Please be aware that color may vary due to various light conditions, finish and other factors.  Therefore, it’s always a great idea to test a paint sample on your wall first. We use Benjamin Moore paint, but most paint stores can match any color.

We’re on the heels of Spring, and this year, we were inspired by open and airy neutrals, accented by pops of color. Grays and creams were our palette du jour, but we couldn’t help sneaking a few brighter hues in our accessories.

      Hi Sarah,
Not sure but you could see if your local paint store can color match to Benjamin Moore colors. Here in the states, most every paint store has these colors on file. If you aren’t able to do that, I’d suggest ordering a Benjamin Moore color deck and taking that to your paint store for them to match.
      Best of luck!

Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact paint match for our Original Home Office Collection, but we would suggest you take a drawer out of your credenza and have the paint store match the color for you!

      Hi Malea,
Thank you so much for your comment. Unfortunately we can’t give you an exact stain color, because it would depend on the type of wood you’re staining and also the amount of coats you’re using. We would suggest though that you test a few colors on some spare pieces of wood and compare that to the furniture pieces you’re hoping to match!

      Hi Angie,

Thanks for your comment! The light fixture in the dining room you’re asking about is the Ballard Designs Orb Chandelier. Also, we don’t think Galveston Gray would be too dark for a basement depending on what look you’re going for. It could definitely create a moody, cozy space! We suggest painting a large swatch on your wall before making your final decision!

      Hi Amy,

We recommend trying Benjamin Moore’s Jute (#AF-80). As always we suggest painting a few swatches on your wall before making your final decision. Depending on the lighting in your room and the furnishings, paint colors can read very differently from space to space.

      Hi Lisa,
It’s difficult to say without seeing your home, but we see no reason why Galveston Gray, which really is lovely, couldn’t be used outside. Depending on the look you’re aiming for, it most likely won’t look too intense. As always with paint color choices though, we suggest you try a few shades of gray on the exterior of your home to figure out just the right option!

Best of luck, and happy decorating!
