Each year we’re proud to sponsor the Traditional Home Hampton Designer Showhouse which benefits the Southampton Hospital. This year’s showhouse located in Bridgehampton was a fantastic success. Bakes & Kropp shared with us their inspiration for the gorgeous pool house, which they furnished using Ballard Designs products!
Last week, we showed you the Master Bedroom of the 2014 Hampton Designer Showhouse, but this week, we’re moving outside to the poolhouse!
The super talented team at Bakes & Kropp designed a gorgeous space, all inspired by the zebra wood used for the kitchen cabinets. Finished in a soft gray, the gorgeous cabinetry made our design-loving hearts go pitter patter! We loved the way the grain of the wood feels beachy (appropriate for a seaside poolhouse!) without being too kitschy.
From there, Mary from the Bakes & Kropp team chose a gorgeous gray wall color (Purbeck Stone from Farrow & Ball) to complement the cabinetry, and the rest of the furnishings in the adjoining living space evolved natural.
In the living space, Mary chose our Audrey Gray Fabric for the sofa, then mixed it with two woven Capri Chairs to create a relaxed but polished vibe that is as friendly for wet swimsuits as it is for aperitifs!
To further bridge the outdoors with the indoors (this is a pool house after all) Mary brought in tons of greenery in the form of a succulent planter on the coffee table, olive tree topiaries, and hanging planters just beyond the french doors.
And for that final flourish, she topped it off with a glittering Orb Chandelier! We love how calming this space is. Next time, we’re bringing a book and kicking our feet up!
Thank you so much for Mary for sharing her design process with us and for using our products so elegantly in this space!
