In the pages of our catalog, you’ve probably noticed the tips that we include for design inspiration. From the products we sell to the tips we add to our catalog, our goal is to help you decorate your home inside and out to reflect your unique personality! Today, we thought we’d round up all the fun tips from our Holiday 2014 catalog.
Above, we designed this stylish, antique-inspired TV cabinet to that you can easily tuck away your flatscreen when guests are headed over. This is a great way to create a focal point on the wall (one that doesn’t have a sports game on it), while still keeping your living or family room functional for everyday life.
Sometimes you just need a narrow piece of furniture so you won’t sabotage your traffic flow. We understand! That’s why we made our Martin Console extra shallow, perfect for little spots where you need to squeeze in a bit more storage!
One of our favorite decorating tricks for pulling a room together is to pick a color palette and then stick to it! Use patterns and solids galore, and as long as you stay within your color palette, you’ll have a stylish room. That’s what we did here. We picked a silvery gray and we used it on the rugs, sofa, chairs, and drapery. Instant polish!
If you struggle to find places to hang your Christmas stockings, fear not! A floor stocking holder can go on a bookshelf, in an entryway, or next to a mantel. Plus, you can use these year round for umbrellas, leashes, or tote bags.
How cute are these bone-shaped stockings? Perfect for your furry best friend!
In a large living room or a great room, try using two rugs right next to each other instead of one large one. It helps distinguish a living space from a dining space, and if using two of the same rugs, it makes the whole space feel clean and pulled together.
Did you know that our Under Cabinet Paper Towel Mount can also be mounted to the wall?
We love our classic Burlap Fringe Stocking and wanted to add in another style to mix and match.
Our Slim Chadwick Media Armoire is the perfect size for flatscreen TV’s without totally overwhelming your room!

Hi there! I love the shutter cabinet for a wall mounted tv. I am wondering how the cords would be hidden though. Thank you!
Caroline @ How to Decorate
Hi Ann,
Often, people hide the cords behind the wall. This is something that an electrician can easily do for you, or perhaps you can find a good instruction on online to do it yourself! Another less invasive option would be to get a cord strip from your local hardware store. This is something that will wrap around the cord and lie flat against the wall so that it blends better. Plus, you can paint the cord strip to match your wall color!
Hope that helps,

How to incorporate changes subtly, without repainting walls to my open floor upstairs.
Want to change (2) flush mounted ceiling hallway fixtures. The hallway(1) walls are a silver cloud with the Navarre runner rug in gray and that light fixture is mounted next to the attic fold down door.
The coat closet(1) area walls, living room and dining room walls are Ralph Lauren Alfalfa glaze.
What fixtures do you suggest. I thought about Carriage House chandeliers?
For the dining room can I use the Signature velvet panels in mineral against Alfalfa glazed walls?
What base can I use for a 72 x 42 beveled glass table for the dining room.
