Because we shoot in real homes, we are not always at liberty to paint the walls. In those cases, we have chosen paint colors that best match the wall color in the photo. Please be aware that color may vary due to various light conditions, finish and other factors. Therefore, it’s always a great idea to test a paint sample on your wall first. We use Benjamin Moore paint, but most paint stores can match any color.
It may not feel like it, but it’s Spring in our book, or at least it is on the pages of our Spring catalog! This season, we love mixing neutral wall colors with cool upholstery and fabrics! We’ve fallen for turquoise, citron, and splashes of coral this season, all balanced with generous doses of neutrals.

I like the bookcases/cabinets with the glass doors that appear in some of the pictures. Where are they from?
Caroline @ How to Decorate
Marguerite,
I believe you’re talking about our Seneca Display Cabinet and our Salerno Cabinet.

I AM WANTING TO DO AN INNER CEILING BRONZE TO COMPLIMENT A NEW CHANDELIER THAT I AM ABOUT
TO HAVE PUT IN MY LIVING ROOM!. THE CEILING IS A POPCORN FINISH BUT WILL BE EXTREMELY MESSY
TO REMOVE. BESIDES THAT, I AM CONSIDERING THE EXTRA COST TO CHANGE THAT OUT.. WHAT ARE YOUR IDEAS ABOUT THIS AND DO YOU HAVE A BRONZE PAINT???
Caroline McDonald
Margie,
Unfortunately we don’t sell paint, so I can’t make a suggestion about bronze paint.
Sounds like a pretty ceiling treatment though. We’d love to hear how it turns out.

Hi! I’ve been trying to figure out the wall color that you used in your March 2nd catalog. It was on page 6, Style Update: Coral. The coral color you used on the wall is beautiful!!!
Caroline @ How to Decorate
Melanie,
It’s Benjamin Moore’s Rich Coral!

I have been debating buying the Spring Walkway Stretched Canvas for quite some time. My sofas are linen color and my walls are a light beige complemented with a medium wood coffee table and dark dining set. I love the blues and greens the picture appears to have online but not sure if they will be too vivid – too much bright blue….. Can you offer any insight?
Caroline @ How to Decorate
Erin,
Based on your description of your room, it sounds like Spring Walkway will go beautifully! The blues and greens are very pretty, but not especially vivid. They are a bit muddy in color.
Hopefully that answers your question!
Sandra
Hi I have a very warm palette in kitchen/loving room dining room. It is green brown painted antique looking furniture with dark brown drapes and neutral shades. I want to paint it revere pewter. What do u think? I currently Jane a Benjamin Moore gold. I’m tired of it
Caroline McDonald
Sandra,
Revere Pewter is a great choice because it has a balance of warm and cool tones. I think it’ll work nicely with your furniture, while also adding a fresh look from the gold color you’ve grown tired of. Best of luck!

I bought draperies for my bedroom similar to your Firenze embroidered panels; in a very light white background with grayish print. My floors are light white-wash beige wood plank-tile…what color would look good on the walls for a little contrast? my bed is black wrought iron

I just got your summer catalog and LOVE the blue wall color on p. 79. What is it, please?
Caroline @ How to Decorate
It’s Blue Bay Marina #1655 from Benjamin Moore!
Susan Dahlstrom
The color I am really interested in using in an upcoming Dining Room remodel is the wall color you have
used in page 98 and 99 of your Summer Favorites 2015 catalog. I just received it in the mail and it has a blue
cover. The color shown on page 98/99 is used in a Dining Room and it looks like a green with gray undertone.
Could it be BM Winterwood?? Thanks for your help.
Caroline @ How to Decorate
I believe it is Benjamin Moore’s Sea Salt #CSP-95.
Happy Decorating!

What are the paint colors used on the kitchen cabinets on page 45 of the April 2015 issue? I’m looking for the creamy white color as well as the taupe color on the island. Thank you!
Caroline @ How to Decorate
Hi Laurie,
The gray color on the island is Benjamin Moore’s Heather Gray #2139-40 and the white is Benjamine Moore’s Chantilly Lace #OC-65.
We hope that helps!

Hi, I have purchased the black and cream chevron rug. My sofa is cream u shape sectional. I need help choosing a wall color since I have a red brick fireplace. I’m looking for ideas. Please help! Thanks
Caroline @ How to Decorate
Hi Layla,
This sounds like a great start to your room. We might suggest a cream or light gray wall color, to coordinate with your rug and sectional, and also so it won’t compete with your fireplace. Our best recommendation would be to pick out a few creams and grays at your paint store, test the samples on your wall and see which ones you like.
Best of luck!

I would love to change my living room color but am finding that I get a lot of green reflected light coming back from the tall trees that surround our house and it makes it difficult to choose a paint color (westerly facing room), could you suggest, we have oak flooring (older 1950’s home). Thanks so much
Caroline @ How to Decorate
Hi Jen,
Thanks for your comment. It’s incredibly difficult to suggest paint colors without being in the space. Our best recommendation would be to buy a bunch of paint samples at the paint store and test large swatches on your wall.
Best of luck!

Hi, I am trying to find a color to go with the blue leather chair in mineral. I like the silver mist and the silver marlin. Do u think either would work? Thanks! I use the items I get from u and your paint ideas but I’m a little afraid of t he blue! Thanks f or your help.
Caroline @ How to Decorate
Hi Jan,
Thanks for your comment. Both Silver Mist and Silver Marlin are really lovely colors. We suggest trying a swatch on the wall before picking your color. We think a gray with a hint of blue would look really lovely with one of our blue leather chairs, but go either much lighter or much darker. Don’t try to match it exactly or the chair will blend to much!
Hope that helps,
