We can’t deny it, spa is our favorite color. Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, it just works all year long, and we can never run out of ways to bring this color into a room. Today we have yet another way to pull off spa, by pairing it with taupe.
The inspiration for this color palette really came from our gorgeous Oushak-style Valentino Rug. It’s super soft, has an elegant sheen to it, and has a color palette we can’t help but love. The taupes, golds, and spa blues are a perfect base for this room. We used four different fabrics in this space — Arryanna Spa (on our Spencer Sofa), Pallini Spa (on our Olivia Chair), Burlap, and Document Spa.
To finish off the space, we used a large leafy tree, our Clare Santos Bust draped in sea glass beads, our Alessandra 5-Light Chandelier, and a Julian Floor Lamp.
Now, would you use the items from this space in your home?

Jesus Taupe and Teal go extraordinary ! A simply extraordinary look, that golden pattern gives the teal an almost imperial look too, great great stuff !

What is a complimenting drape pattern or color to go with this pallette? We have accents chairs in the Arryanna Spa pattern that sit by the window and a taupe sectional also in the room. Now I need drapes to finish off the space. Thank you for your help! 🙂

Alana,
There are so many different options that would work with our Arryanna Spa fabric. For something simple and solid,Suzanne Kasler’s 13oz Linen Drapery panel in either Spa or Mineral would look great.
We also love the trim detail on her Greek Key Panel.
We can also create drapery panels from any of our 200+ fabrics
Suzanne Kasler’s Small Stripe in Sky and Blanc would look fantastic with Arryanna Spa and would give it a pretty, polished detail.

I love the chair. I have a Swedish style (17th century/Gustavian) bedroom. The chair style and color are perfect. Where can I buy it?

I love this color palette, and was wondering how to apply it to my master bedroom. I have dark hardwood floors and a dark platform bed, will these color work with my floor and bed?
Caroline @ How to Decorate
Hi Alma,
They definitely will work with dark wood floors and a wood stained bed. Because this color palette includes burlap, it already has those warm tones in it. We might suggest though brining in a natural fiber rug (in a natural color) to create a lighter backdrop for furniture pieces and accessories in this color palette.
Best of Luck,
The How to Decorate Team
