The color blue is one of the most versatile shades in our crayon box. We love the way it can feel sophistication, masculine, beachy, and even feminine! And it’s also fun to mix different shades of blue together in one space to create a balanced, interesting room. That’s just what we did here. We combined indigo with our favorite shade of spa to create a little breakfast area that feels perfectly coastal.
We started with corner Coventry Bench in our Quincy Fabric that has a great, organic pattern that almost looks like a stripe. It has a beachy-feel without being overly nautical. We paired it with a Sidney Pedestal Table, Paris Bistro Chairs in Navy, and one of our favorite new rugs, the Mykonos Hand Woven Rug.
To give the room more personality, we hung a Moravian Star pendant over the table. This fixture looks so beautiful over a round table because it has a similar shape! Finally, we brought in some sea-inspired art pieces, like our Whale Diptych Art, our Beach Sign, and a set of Porcelain Wall-Mounted Shells.
Together, these pieces have a relaxed look that just makes you want to drink some coffee and lounge around, don’t you think?

Absolutely love this idea for my new (to me) condo!!! I have been in love with indigo forever – blue & white everything, but now I want to branch out — but not too far out. So the introduction of Kensington Green is the perfect way to create a fresh look. What color of white would work best with this little nook in the corner of the main big living room? Help!! And thanks so much.

Great, Margaret. We’re so happy to hear that this room inspires you! You might test a few white swatches — something crisp without too much yellow or blue though seems like a good pairing.
Happy Decorating!
