Casa Florentina: Our New Fall Favorites

We’ve racked up a lot of frequent-flyer miles to Italy this year working on our fall Casa collection with our Florentine furniture makers. At their workshop, nestled in the lush hills of Florence, you’ll still find artisans who use the age-old techniques of their ancestors to craft beautiful, well-made furniture with exquisite hand-layered finishes. It’s always an incredible experience to see the masters at their craft.

But once you have a stunning, Italian-made dining table, not just any chandelier will do, which is why we’ve also expanded our curated, luxury lighting collection. Each fixture is crafted with an expert eye for detail and impeccable materials — and specially selected to layer effortlessly with our Casa furniture finishes. Our hand-knotted rugs, masterfully woven from the finest wools and dyes, also complement the entire collection.

Below, we’ve highlighted just a few of our new favorites, but be sure to shop the entire fall collection here.

Matera Collection

We wanted our Matera Collection to look like heirloom pieces, but we designed them to be totally modular to fit a variety of storage needs (and room layouts). Four different server configurations and the pantry work in any combination and are fully outfitted to organize everything from barware to blenders. Bottle racks hold your favorite vintages with stem racks below. And we added a mirrored interior to keep the look light and airy.  A white porcelain ledge is perfect for prep work.

Garden Mural Drapery Panels

Love toile, but looking for something a little different? The print on our Garden Mural Panel was inspired by an antique Chinoiserie wallpaper screen. When the panels are drawn together, they create a lush garden scene joined by a romantic footbridge. Made from linen, they dress up or down with your room decor.

Benita Dining Table

We took an iconic silhouette we’ve always loved and added vintage style for a striking statement in any room — and any finish. The defining detail of the solid wood, trumpet-style table is painted metallic banding studded with nailheads in pewter or antique gold.

Ballard Designs' Casa Florentina Rawson Hand Knotted Rug

Rawson Hand-Knotted Rug

Rawson Hand-Knotted Rug is the perfect antidote to today’s white walled interiors and neutral furnishings. The bold palette will ground any space. Woven with the finest wools and dyes, its all-over pattern of geometric floral medallions is characteristic of traditional Heriz and Serapi rugs.

Ballard Designs' Casa Florentina Liliana Chandelier

Liliana Pendant

Organic, sculptural and contemporary, the Liliana Pendant sets the mood the moment you turn it on. Blooms of blown Murano glass create a bouquet of warm amber color illuminated by 12 candle bulbs hidden behind. The florettes are held in place by bronzed metal stems.

Milano Collection

Clean, unadorned lines and architectural sophistication. We think the Milano Collection embodies the essence of contemporary Italian design. The Console, Side Table and Coffee Table each feature a low, box-style top resting on a walnut stained, hardwood base.

Casa Florentina Ophelia Hand Knotted Rug

Ophelia Hand-Knotted Rug

We’ve always been suckers for traditional Turkish Oushak design, and this intricate rug pattern, rendered in a subtle palette of understated tones, is especially wonderful. Like all fine hand-knots, the colors will appear to brighten and darken as the light and your perspective changes.

Ballard Designs' Casa Florentina Nicoli Chandelier

Nicoli Chandelier

We love the Nicoli Chandelier for its sophisticated European flair. Three swan-neck arms flow from a center sphere of white alabaster banded in aged brass metal. The three elongated black paper shades with white interior add a dressy finishing touch.
