A Stylish Thanksgiving Table for Your Family Gathering

Thanksgiving table and place setting inspiration for the holiday

Thanksgiving tabletop inspiration for your placesetting and dining room

The weeks and months leading up to the New Year move at warp speed, which is why it’s important to step back and enjoy the moments you get to spend with family during the fall. Of course Thanksgiving is one of those times of year we get to sit down together and enjoy each others’ company, give thanks, and enjoy a meal together. For a big gathering like this, we like to set a table that feels special and festive. We pulled together some of our favorite pieces, both new and old, and are sharing how to get the look for yourself!

A Thanksgiving table with plaid, brown accents, and red flowers

Our inspiration for the table was our new Pheasant Accent Plates. The hand painted bird on the accent plates has all of the most beautiful fall colors and works perfectly with our Harvest Plaid Table Runner and napkins. To coordinate, we chose the Chocolate Lattice dinner plate from Bunny Williams’ Melange Collection and our Piper Woven Chargers.

Linen slipcover for a folding ballroom chair

Extra seating is necessary during the holidays, so we like to keep a few folding chairs handy in case we need to squeeze in a few extra people. Of course, we’re always looking for ways to make functional items more stylish, so you can imagine our delight when Hostess Extraordinaire Bunny Williams designed a slipcover for our ballroom chairs. This pretty linen slipcover is the perfect way to make guests feel more welcome and comfortable. We pinned a little corsage to the back — a great way to turn a folding chair into a seat of honor.

Centerpiece made of mercury glass pumpkins and small flower arrangements

Of course once you have your table all set, it’s time to start thinking about the centerpiece. If you’re hosting lots of house guests during Thanksgiving, we love the idea of making lots of little flower arrangements for your table, then moving them to your guest room and powder room after dinner is over. We grouped together mercury glass pumpkins, tapered candles, and 3 small flower arrangements in the center of the table to create a pretty centerpiece.

For our flowers, we chose red anemones, red dahlias, and lots of green foliage. After the dishes are done, you can leave the pumpkins in the center of the table, and offer the smaller arrangements to your guests to take home.
