Dear How to Decorate,
Here’s the deal. I hate to shop and cannot figure out what would look good in this room. My mind is wired for math and science and anytime I even think about decorating I find something better to do. I wish for a warm, inviting room but have no idea where to start. I have never done much to any home I’ve had and am usually just embarrassed to ask for help. This room is open and airy and I think it would has great potential.
Help!

Melinda,
Let’s lighten and brighten your foyer entry with our Salerno Console. With it’s light cream cabinetry, oak accent doors, and darker iron hardware, it will give more proportion to your foyer, complementing your dark wood stained entry door and side window panels. Adding a lighter sisal area rug, such as our Natural Diamond Sisal Rug will provide texture, while providing coordination with the Salerno Console.
Two options shown below for accessories and complementing artwork, will also serve to add lighter color and interest to the foyer. Adding a few of your favorite accessories inside the console will also cozy up your large foyer area. Artwork, such as Mineral Sea Art or our new wonderful Daiquiri Bird Art, would be great choices to a a bit of color and ambiance.
Place the tall, narrow Greenwich Mirror on the opposite accent wall will not only add reflective light to your foyer, but will also serve as a lovely transition into your living space. The bronzed metal framing of this mirror will also coordinate well with Salerno Console. We hope you enjoy our inviting, lighter additions to your lovely foyer.
Thanks for your email, and we hope your space comes together!

Hi! I’ve been looking at the Salerno Console for our bedroom – it’s beautiful! Quick question about the color of the piece. In the overview on the website it calls it a “Cream finish.” In the specifications on the website it calls it “white oak.” You state above that it it “light cream.” I think of cream as having a yellow undertone so I’m nervous to purchase. I’d like the Salerno Console to match my Sophie Side Tables in white. Will they go well together or does the Salerno have more of a yellow/cream color? Thank you for your help!
