If you’re looking to switch up your decor in the new year, one of the easiest ways to create a whole new look is to swap out your bedding. We love mixing and matching different patterns, colors, and textures, and think you’ll be surprised by how much of an impact bedding can make.

Graphic and Girly

With so much white in this space — white walls, white drapery, white headboard, and largely white bedding — we wanted to add some graphic punch and also a few girly elements. We started with our Leura Ruffled Bedding in blush pink which has an elegant ruffle along the border and a crisp pink tape trim.

Next, we added doses of black with a simple throw pillow, black and white greek key lamp, and a Louis Chair upholstered in a black linen.

Shades of Blue

To bring color into this blue bedroom, we chose several accents in varying shades of blue. They’re all similar but none of them match exactly giving the space a more collected feel. Our Saunders Striped Bedding was the jumping off point, so we brought out the blue with our Adrian Terra Cotta Lamp and our Charlotte 3-Drawer Dresser.

We’ve talked before about how the color wheel can help you decorate, especially when it comes to choosing a color palette. Our Estella and Saunders bedding uses a complementary color combination of blue and orange to bring life to this bedroom.

Greek Key & Chinoiserie

We wanted to play up the preppy element of chinoiserie and greek key accents. Suzanne Kasler’s Greek Key Bedding in Navy works beautifully with our new Pagoda Green fabric.

We played up our loved of classic patterns by bringing in our Ellery Gingham Bedding in Emerald. Big Euro shams provide the perfect backdrop for our navy and white accents and help blend the Pagoda fabric with our Greek Key.

With all of those tradition elements, one little touch of contemporary helps modernize the look. We chose our Holden Task Lamp in a brushed brass. Its bold silhouette and shiny finish bring that tension we’re always looking to create.
