The front door is one of the easiest places to refresh because it doesn’t take much to completely transform the way your home exterior looks. Focusing on the front entrance is usually not top priority once the Christmas decorations come down and the cold weather hits, so we understand if you’ve neglected your front door the past few months. Now that Spring has sprung, it’s time to show your front door some love with these simple ways to refresh your front door.
1. Update Your Wreath
Since the front door is the focal point of the exterior of your home, it only makes sense to add style to meet everyone’s eye. One of our favorite and easiest ways to refresh a front door is by adding a wreath. We love wreaths because they incorporate natural elements and are versatile enough to be used during any season. From boxwood to hydrangeas, eucalyptus to olive leaves, there’s a wreath for every mood and every style.
Already have a wreath you love? Give it a quick update by pinning an arrangement of seasonal flowers, like we did above.
2. Pile on the Planters
What better place to decorate with plants and flowers than by your front door? It’s no secret we love to use natural elements, which is why we have a variety of planters in all shapes and sizes. You can’t go wrong with the classic look of two planters flanking the front door on each side, but you can also incorporate a variety by mixing and matching different colors and styles together, like we did above. The more plants the merrier.
3. Have A Pretty Place to Wipe Your Feet
While a doormat isn’t necessarily a show stopper, it’s always nice to have a spot for everyone to wipe their feet. Doormats are also a friendly way to make your home feel more inviting to guests. As you can see from the pictures above, these Ballard fans prove your doormat doesn’t have to compromise style for durability. You can even take it up a notch by layering your doormat over an indoor/outdoor rug.
4. Add Light
A little lighting goes a long way. Lanterns are an easy addition to refresh your front door because they are affordable and require no installation. These fun solar powered outdoor lanterns are perfect for illuminating garden pathways, patios and porches. Layer multiple lanterns along the steps or flank two by the doorway.
5. Hang a Basket
Our Adirondack Basket is a fan favorite because it’s the perfect way to add year round style to your front door. One of the best things about this basket is that it’s completely up to you with how you style and prop it. While it’s versatile enough for the whole house, the front door is our favorite place to hang it. Fill it with flags for the Fourth of July or foliage during the Fall, your options are endless!
Take a look at how these Ballard fans have styled their own Adirondack Hanging Baskets below.
