Round Sitting Room

Question:Round Sitting Room

Hello Ballard!

I have a style dilemma in my master bedroom. I have a round “room” to the far side of the bedroom. I just have not found how to:

  • Make drapes work (how do you do this in a round room?)
  • Furniture work (same problem!)

The view out of the windows is beautiful…if I could just figure out how to make this work. I’ve attached two pictures so you can see the issues. Any help is appreciated.

I love Ballard – I’ve been a customer for years!

Answer:

Dear Jacqui,

The Style Studio Team is very impressed with your design savvy. We think you have done a fantastic job! Round areas are a particular problem, but we think we have come up with a solution. Why not carry the blue silk used in the bedroom area onto the windows in the round seating area? We recommend Roman Shades mounted at the top of the windows. This will bring the color throughout the room, give a finished look without interrupting your view and still provide privacy when needed.

Adding our Sorrento Rug in Brown will help make the space feel cozy and welcoming. It is available in a wide variety of sizes. Our Baldwin Chaise covered in Camel Velvet would continue the sense of luxury while inviting one to curl up with a good novel. If you have any of the blue checked fabric (from your table topper) left over, make a few pillows to toss on the chaise. Place the Ethan Tray Table in Old World Brown next to the chaise to complete the vignette.

We hope are suggestions will give you some ideas on how to work with a round space. Let us know how it works out, we love to hear from our customers – and don’t forget some pictures!

Sincerely,
The Style Studio Team
