We know we will have people visit over the Thanksgiving Holiday, as well as our Annual Holiday Party planned for the first weekend in December, and of course the Christmas Eve Family Get Together. So where do we start? How much to buy? What to buy?
Check the liquor cabinet first. Make a list of what you already have on hand. Here is our suggestion for a fully stocked bar – something for everyone!
Now, how much do we buy? The basic rules are:
- Two drinks per person for the first hour, then one drink per person for each additional hour.
- Assume 40% drink beer, 30% mixed drinks and 30% wine.
When planning your Holiday Bar, don’t forget the coffee and phone number for the local Cab Company.
Here’s hoping you have a wonderful Holiday Season filled with warm wishes, close friends, family and joy!

It is great that you remind people to have arrangements for guests that have too much to drink. Very important!

The garland can hang either way. It is just a matter of how you want it to look. There are no set rules. Look at some pictures of mantles that you like and make note of how the garland is hung.
