Help Decorating Daughter’s Room

Dear Style Studio team,

I am looking at the Camden headboard for my 14-year-old daughter’s room. She will be in high school next year.  Our home is a stone, stucco French country. Her current bedroom has tan carpeting and tan walls with a lavender alcove/sitting area.

The bedroom furniture was mine from growing up: ivory top, somewhat speckled and that very pale avocado green. I would like to change the poster bed to a padded and textured headboard. I am not sure whether to go with the tufted and nail head, either silver or bronze? Also what color headboard would go with that avocado furniture? I would prefer a solid but textured or patterned versus a multicolored headboard.

I would also like to get her one of the side tables with the long tablecloth for her books and light. She has burlap pillows with lavender print so the “theme” color scheme is burlap, tans, pale green and lavender.

I’m not sure if I should go with a yellow white (I am not an ivory fan). Would parchment be a more natural color? Or, should I do a darker colored headboard to make the room have a more interesting look and detract from the 1970’s furniture?

Thank you for your help or input.

Regards,

Theresa S.

Dear Theresa,

Camden Leather HeadboardThank you for your dilemma. We think that the Parchment Leather Camden headboard (pictured right) would work. Please note that it is only available in King or Queen size.

If you wish for another size, we are thinking either a celery twill or natural linen.

Another option for you could be a slipcover for the headboard. We hope this information helps!

Happy Decorating!
