We moved to a new home 9 months ago…and I still can’t figure out what to do with my entry area and the adjoining room. Please help! Upon entering the front door, there is a small hallway to he left. immediately to your right is this confusing room. What should I do with this room? The relatively small size combined with the two large entries has stumped me. A dining room is a possibility but our eat in kitchen already seats 8 and we have no need for a more formal setting. Sitting room is another possibility — something casual but sophisticated. We have 15 month old twins so it definitely needs to be livable, whatever it is. I’d also like to somehow incorporate the coat tree and a rug or area for guests to leave their shoes. (Please excuse the toys and shopping bags that serve as the current decor). I had two chairs and a console type table in this room previously, but I couldn’t figure out the right arrangement without it looking too “vanilla”. I’m open for anything! Thanks for your help.

STYLE STUDIO RESPONSE
Dear Christina: Thank you for your dilemma. We hope that our suggestions will help you with your problem. We think our Lauren Rug would look great on the floor – not only in the living area, but also as a runner in your hallway to greet your guests. We also think a Laraine Mirror hung above the small black cabinet in the hall would work quite well. We are also suggesting our Baldwin Sofa to be placed against the 12’5” wall along the back. You can also use a Baldwin Chair which should face into the room from the bay window area with a Traveler’s Willow Chest to the right of the chair (the chest is a great place to stow toys). Both Baldwin pieces should be slipcovered in our Butter Twill. Add some pillows in Sage Check, burlap and coral on the sofa to soften the look. Hang our ever popular Birch Grove Painting above the sofa. As far as the windows, let’s hang our Butter Twill Drapes from the floor to the ceiling to finish the entire look.
We’ve attached some photos to inspire you. We do hope that our suggestions work for you!
Sincerely,
Jane
