We have a beautiful view from these windows but the room is too narrow to figure out the best use of space.
Since it is a vacation home, we want the view but also want to snuggle down for some television or movie watching.
The fireplace is ugly and the box over it completely useless. There is a full dining room to the right of the room. Furniture placement for the television and conversation is difficult! Blues and tans will prevail.
Also, I intend to use Marlowe bar stools at the counter!

What a special space you have to when on vacation!
With a collection of good pieces, we know this area will be perfect. The key to your space is flexibility – when it comes to selecting your furniture pieces.
Above is a layout of your room.
We have placed several smaller pieces like our Eaton Loveseat in Velvet Indigo and Larkin Swivel Chairs in Suzanne Kasler Camel Linen. Adding pillows in Danish Linen Sky and Chenille Desert for comfort.
We suggest chosing the Kent Leather Ottoman and the Sarafina rug which will be the perfect anchor for these pieces because of it’s fabulous color palette.
With our recommendation of the Charleston Chair paired with a footstool and a side table, we created a cozy corner by the window for reading and listening to the water.
Nestled along the wall in the opposite corner is a beautiful Casa Florentina piece … San Marino Secretary … in Distressed Blue along with the Courbe Ottoman in Danish Sky.
For your opened box in the wall, we suggest placing your media equipment and then mounting your television on the outside.
Now create swinging doors on a frame to cover the screen and open box when it is not in use.
On the front side of this frame, consider mounting four of our Antique Aviary Prints for a artistic focal point and to help disguise the frame.
On the wall to the left of your fireplace, add a chest in a limed finish and then top it with our Cassidy Mirror to reflect the light. We then recommend surrounding this mirror with treasured family photographs.
Why not flank the left side of this chest with another Courbe Ottoman to really maximize your seating.
Always remember lamps, for both the table and floor, to provide enough lighting for those overcast days!
