Decorating Dilemmas is a weekly column in which our stylists answer your design questions, so you can tackle your home decorating project with complete confidence.
Dear How to Decorate,
We have lived in our home for 7 years now, and I’m tired of the same old look. I recently got a new rug that I love, but I need help with new curtains! Do I go with a solid color or can I do a pattern?
Also, I recently moved the couch from the same spot it has been for the last 7 years to try to change it up, but does it block off the room too much?
And what about throw pillows? I just can’t decide!
Please help me out of my decorating funk,
Collette

Dear Collette,
Redecorating after 7 years can be taxing! Try taking things one step at a time – like the change in the sofa position. Live with it for awhile and see if the floor plan works out. You can always change it if you’re not happy.
We chose our Firenze Panels for window drapery. They should add texture to the room!
We noticed that the print above the mantel is a bit too high. Try lowering it just a couple of inches and adding something more substantial, like three of our Carved Wood Candle Holders on one side and our Tall Olive Jar on the other.
As far as throw pillows, you’ll want to add some gray into the mix. We chose our Adelynne Crewel Pillows in Charcoal. Try blending gray and brown pillows to tie things together.
You may find that this is all you need to make everything work together and complete your makeover!
Happy Decorating,

Thank you so much this was very helpful! What do you think about adding your large orb chandelier in the bronze finish?
Greatly appreciated,
