Fall Color Palette: Pomegranate & Sand

Fall color palette with reds and neutrals

All of a sudden, we’re crazy about reds! Though our true love is spa, we’ve recently been so inspired by rich pomegranate and cranberry colors. When blended with a cool blue wall color, like Quiet Moments (#1563) by Benjamin Moore which we used here, it feels unexpected and warms up a space for Fall.

In this gorgeous family room, we used a sandy neutral (our Dover Linen) on our Griffin armchair, as well as a deeper chocolate color, our Marlow Mocha fabric, on the Griffin sofa. Together they provide the perfect neutral base for our richer accent color! Rather than choose large upholstery pieces to bring in our red color, we opted for accents like our Linen Pillow with Embroidered Double Flange in Pomegranate, our Luciana Table Lamp in red, and our Beckett Hooked Chevron Rug in Red. Those three accents bring in just the right amount of deep red to give this space a warmth, while still feeling balanced.

To top it all off, we chose a diptych from one of our favorite artists, Wendy Whitson. Her Forest of Dreams paintings are gallery-wrapped canvases that tie everything together, from the wall color to the red accents and even the sandy neutrals. We love how many colors this painting has — it makes coordinating colors a cinch!

I love the look of the space. My question is the reason behind the wall paintings are not centered over the fireplace and the wood piece. How do I interpret this?
