We’re totally smitten with the happy shade of Spice you’re seeing all over the pages of our Fall 2015 catalog. It feels warm, fresh, unexpected, and it coordinates beautifully with any neutrals you may already have in your home (like grays, beiges, blacks, and even navy!).
In the bedroom above, we combined our favorite Spice with shades of gray, both on the walls and in our bedding, to create a playful bedroom with energy!
First we started with Benjamin Moore’s Gray Horse #2140-50. It’s a great true gray that’s not too light or too dark. Then we brought in our Giselle Headboard upholstered in our new Rayna Coral. This fabric is so fun, has a great hand, and the gorgeous colors throughout it are so lovely. We also used a matching bedskirt. Did you know you can order a custom bedskirt in any of our 200+ fabrics? It’s a luxe designer look you can easily get yourself!
Next we brought in our Lucca Velvet Quilted Bedding which is the epitome of luxurious. It’s so super soft and warm — great for cool Fall nights.
Over on our Louis XVI 44inch Sideboard in Distressed White we placed our new Leona Table Lamp in Coral with one of our Limited Edition Lampshades (also in Rayna!). We hung a vibrant abstract art piece, our High Minded Art, over the nightstand.
To finish off the bed, we hung our Mirrored Love Letters over the headboard and placed a Simone Bench in Garrison Spice at the foot of the bed. Our Autumn Throw Blanket is the perfect finishing touch since it has all of the same colors as our art and Rayna fabric.
Voila! This fun cozy bedroom would be a happy guest bedroom or even fun inspiration for a dorm room!

I actually have questions. I love this look! I have dark wood furniture. Will this look be okay with that? Also, I need drapes for three windows in a bay window setting without the bay window bench, I have a beautiful desk there. What color and what drape would you suggest?
Caroline @ How to Decorate
Hi Renee,
This color palette can definitely work with dark wood furniture. Just try to balance the dark wood pieces with lighter elements — maybe light colored drapes, a light carpet, or a lighter wall color. That way your room won’t start to get too heavy. Our Linen Sheer Tie Top Drapes are really lovely and have that lightness to them. The natural color way would work beautifully with these fabrics. The white would look great against the wall color we suggested above too.
Best of luck. It sounds like it’ll be a beautiful space!
