Decorating for the holidays is something we look forward to every year, but with this yearly traditional, we sometimes feel stuck if our living room color palette doesn’t necessarily jive with that traditional red and green color palette. If you think outside the Christmas box, it’s fun to decorate your home for the holidays with unexpected colors. We love using a classic blue-and-white color palette with tons of metallics to create a festive look.
Driven by the diptych painting over the fireplace, this living room has a strong blue and white color palette, so to play off of that, we used blue-and-white chinoiserie ornaments to decorate our tree, mixed with plenty of metallic accents, like mercury glass candles and gold ball ornaments.
Subtle accents, like garland and greenery in vases and twinkling light, can help your home feel more cheery this time of year, even without those shots of Christmas red.
