Christine's bedroom with matching pieces

Decorating Dilemmas is a weekly column in which our stylists answer your design questions, so you can tackle your home decorating project with complete confidence.

Hello I am getting things ordered and figured out for the rooms you have already helped me with 🙂 but one more room we are wanting to add some decor to. Our master bedroom … We want to keep our bedframe and dresser and 2 bedside tables even though they all match 🙂 I like our bench in our room too but was going to take the old phonograph player out. i want to keep my main pieces but bedding and decor is needed badly! We are in the process of painting the trim and doors all cream colored and either a nice grey, White or. Lay beige on the walls. I do t want to add any really dark colors since our bedroom wood is a dark cherry wood. Can you please help with the decor and maybe suggest a wall color that would go well with the decor colors you all pick and the wood I have. My bench has a linen oatmeal color onit. Thank you !

Dear Christine,

We are happy to help you update your bedroom. Let’s bring a luxurious, light and serene ambiance to this room.

Your classic Cherry headboard and matching pieces lend an air of stateliness to the space. We love the idea of keeping a little bit of dressiness in the linens. Let’s start with the Palermo Embroidered Bedding Euro Shams, a Cora Scalloped Quilted Bedding Quilt in soothing Mineral on top and layer a Palermo Duvet across the bottom of the bed. A fluffy Suzanne Kasler Alain Pillow in Spa and a Signature Velvet & Linen Pillow in Oasis will complete the bed. The clean lines of the Helene Table Lamp help to update the room and add a touch of the glam. It appears you may need to stack one of your lamps to make it level with the other side. Try it on top of books, a beautiful box or our decorative Medici Capital.

We can create a cozy corner where your phonograph player used to be with an Irene Chair dressed in Halyard Mineral, a Suzanne Kasler Metal Accent Table keeps company and a Karen Floor Lamp adds function while a Rosamund Mirror leans ever so elegantly against the wall.

A Suzanne Kasler Gourd Lamp in Gray Green will add a pop of color to your mirrored dresser. Add some depth and balance to your space with Subtle Beauty Figurative Art over your bench. Complimentary Signature Velvet and Linen Pillows in Slate and Oasis and an Ocelot Pillow bring the setting together.

We love that you are painting all your doors and trim to match. This will help to bring a cohesive look to the space. Take a look at Sherwin Williams (SW 7035) Aesthetic White, Fleur de Sel (SW7570), and Egret White. Be sure to test large samples on the walls for the perfect tone.

Last but not least, hang Suzanne Kasler Signature 13 oz. Linen Panels in Blanc near the ceiling for added drama and that ultimate look of luxury.

Happy Decorating!
