When we’re dreaming up the catalog, we like to hone in on one theme or vibe and let that guide the color palette, furniture choices, and accessories in the space. This summer, we were really digging this retro Palm Beach/Resort Chic thing. We were loving super saturated colors, bamboo accents, raffia, palm motifs, kelly green, vibrant pink, and anything that comes to mind when you think about that glamorous vacation look. We really like to make a statement in our catalog and go all out, but this feel is really easy to bring home in more subtle ways, too. Here are our favorite ways to get the look (without going full-on movie set):
1. Palm Leaves & Palm Prints
Obviously palm leaves are a great way to bring that tropical flair to your space. Bunny Williams’ Zinc Palm Leaves make a serious style statement, but we’re also totally taken with our new Nora Green fabric. It’s inspired by a vintage fabric, has this fantastic leaf shape to it, and in a perfect shade of Kelly Green. We were happy to incorporate this fabulous fabric into the pages of our catalog, and when paired with a natural fiber rug, we’re practically transported to the sandy shores of Florida!
2. Raffia Accents
We’re loving raffia accents because they feel coastal and vintage without being too much. We’re introducing this new raffia fabric by the yard — it looks fabulous on furniture and is in that perfect sandy neutral. So chic and so Palm Beach!
3. Kelly Green
There’s something about Kelly green mixed with black and white that feels fresh and just transports us to a beach somewhere with a piña colada in hand. Tropical is even in the name of our fabulous Kitts Bay Indoor/Outdoor Pillow!
4. Black & White Cabana Stripes
Black & White stripes are the epitome of ‘resort chic,’ and we especially love this timeless duo paired with bright pink! We used white chaise cushions piped in black fabric, then accented with a striped throw pillow.
5. Touches of Bamboo
When you think of Palm Beach regency furniture, there’s probably a little bamboo accent in there somewhere. We love bringing that iconic leg to an unexpected pieces like a nightstand. Topped with a slab of marble, our West Indies Nightstand is the perfect blend of modern and vintage.
6. Pink + Green
If it’s good enough for Lily Pulitzer, it’s good enough for us, and pink and green was one of her favorite color combinations. We designed this light and airy room with tons of fresh, green accents, and we topped it all off this throw pillows in a vibrant magenta. We think these two are the perfect pair!
7. Watery Blues & Turquoise
Watery blues and turquoise are a no brainer if you want to bring vacation style into your home. We used that same magenta color in the green living room above, and brought it into a home office for two. Then we topped it off with a turquoise rug and watery blue abstract painting. This bright color combination is tempered with plenty of white so it’s not overwhelming.
8. Jewelry for Your Room
If you’ve ever vacationed in a tropical locale, you’ve probably picked up a beaded necklace as a souvenir. Our Freya Bunching Table is made of thousands of coco beads strung together in a web and topped with tempered glass. It’s a fun way to bring that tropical vibe into your home in an unexpected way. We think it looks best with a fruity drink on top!
