To day we’re digging this bedroom would be a huge understatement. We wanted to show you how to get a beachy look in your bedroom (cause who doesn’t want to feel like they’re on vacation when it’s actually just Monday?), so we designed and styled this casual, bohemian space just for How to Decorate. The whole room was inspired by our new Milos Bedding in Indigo. It has a gorgeous Shibori pattern on it (Shibori is a Japanese dye method that’s a little reminiscent of tie-dying) which feels cool, casual, and a bit like you could be on vacation in a surf town!
From there, we brought in one of our new favorite fabrics, Natural Woven Sand, which is really a woven polypropylene that looks like raffia. The sandy color and raffia texture were the perfect backdrop for our Cohen Headboard and X Bench.
To bring in more indigo, we topped our West Indies Nightstand with our Leona Lamp in Teal! We love the way this dark lamp pops against the bright window behind it. A light or neutral lamp would’ve been lost. Of course, don’t miss the bamboo details and marble top on the nightstand which reinforce that beachy feel we were going for.
It’s our belief that every bedroom needs a comfortable chair for reading, flipping through your favorite rag, or simply throwing your bathrobe when you crawl into bed. So naturally, our Rebecca Swivel Glider was the perfect fit, especially when topped off with our Linen Whipstitch Throw and a 12×20 pillow in Vivian Navy.
