Fall Outdoor Entertaining Tips from Jana Bek

Outdoor entertaining during the Fall

Jana Bek is an interior designer with a fantastic eye for color and an even better sense of style. Through Bek Design, she works with clients all over the country to design spaces that suit her clients’ needs and budget. Last Week, she’s shared how she turned her small, outdoor balcony into an inviting space to relax and entertain, and today, she’s sharing her tips for entertaining outdoors during the Fall.

Outdoor entertaining, especially in the fall, always feels so festive. With our balcony recently revamped, we are very much enjoying the opportunity to take the party outside.

Here are my top tips to ensure your outdoor celebration is a success:

Outdoor entertaining during the Fall

Don’t Play Bartender All Night

Choose a cocktail that’s easy to make so you can enjoy your guests. This champagne cocktail is so easy to make. Prepare the blackberry syrup ahead, forgo the sugar rim, and refills are a breeze!

Have a festive mock-tail option available, like these lemon thyme spritzers.

Make It Ahead

Choose bites that taste great at room temperature, that’s why I made these homemade pretzels, delicious at any degree and gift leftovers to guests.

Give yourself a break and buy some bites. I paired the pretzels with a simple cheese plate to make party prep much easier.

Forget The Labels

Let your “indoor” furniture pinch-hit by dragging it outside, if just for the night! An indoor stool easily acts as a side table or additional seating.

Blankets abound!

I like having a few blankets on hands so when the temperature drops, the party doesn’t have to stop!

Just in Case

If it’s buggy, make sure you have Citronella candles throughout the area.
