In our Feature Friday series, we’ll be highlighting the homes of some of our favorite bloggers and designers. We love the way they’ve used our products in their spaces, so we thought we’d bring these bright ideas to you!
Who doesn’t love a gorgeous kitchen? For the past eight years, House Beautiful has prepared irresistible spreads featuring home kitchens artfully crafted by notable interior designers. 2016 celebrates the ninth annual Kitchen of the Year by showcasing a home in Atlanta, Georgia.
Interior Designer Matthew Quinn thoughtfully created an elegant kitchen, but ensured that it was also functional for a family to use on a day-to-day basis.
The banquette provides a comfy seating arrangement for when everyone gathers in the kitchen. But guess what? There is a fold-down secret charging station incorporated in the back. Efficiency is key!
The wet bar and the walk-in pantry both feature Ballard Designs glassware and tableware; enough to entertain for days! Quinn made the pantry a focal point with glass doors and vibrant blue tiles since guests can see the pantry all the way from the entryway.
You can never redesign one room without making changes to others, right? Here is the view of the family’s great room from the kitchen. Designer Sherry Hart added plenty of seating to allow for even more gathering space. Our Felicity Acrylic Side Tables keep the room from feeling too cluttered.
Quinn put finishing touches throughout the Atlanta house. The mudroom features our Beadboard Cabinets to keep outdoor gear tidy and easy to find.
With Atlanta being rather warm throughout the majority of the year, a great outdoor seating area is necessary. Our Bornova coffee table and side tables fit perfectly into this loggia, designed by Sherry Hart.
The October issue of House Beautiful showcased a handful of other inspiring homes. Anne Maxwell Foster, of the design firm Tilton Fenwick, lives in an 1850s Hudson Valley, New York home. Her living room is a luxuriously cozy retreat that perfectly mixes velvet, plaid, and even animal prints. Our Castered Tufted Storage Ottoman is pictured here in a custom tartan fabric by Rogers & Goffigon.
If you can believe it, this kitchen is in the exact same home as the dramatic living room above. Maxwell Foster’s home is a great example of how she loves mixing and matching colors and patterns. The white kitchen provides a base that allowed her to add vibrant wallpaper and a Moroccan-tile backsplash that complement each other. Our classic Paris Bistro Stools add to the global aesthetic while remaining functional for a “21st-century family.”
