In our Feature Friday series, we’ll be highlighting the homes of some of our favorite bloggers and designers. We love the way they’ve used our products in their spaces, so we thought we’d bring these bright ideas to you!
‘Tis the season! You know we absolutely love it when our customers share photos of how they welcome Ballard Designs into their home. During the holidays we see so many cozy settings with plenty of Ballard buys. When we came across Sarah Macklem’s Instagram and blog, we just could not resist sharing with you. Sarah is a professional home stylist and the editor of The Yellow Cape Cod. Her own home is a beautiful combination of sensible pieces that express her personal style. She does not shy away from mixing bold colors and patterns! We were tickled when we spotted lots of our pieces mixed with her holiday ornamentation.
Most of her Ballard pieces are practical year-round, such as her black and white shades. The dining room doubles as a home office and features our boldly graphic Haviland Limited Edition Lamp Shades. We love a dramatic and modern take on the classic holiday décor!
Sarah has also incorporated our black and white Dodie Drum Chandelier Shades into her breakfast area. These shades are a fun addition to any chandelier.
The touches of red and green add the perfect holiday cheer without being over-designed. We love to use shades as a way to express personal style and reflect the season. Changing out shades provides a quick update that isn’t too expensive.
On her office wall, Sarah has hung our Wood Wall Pocket and temporarily transformed it into a gift wrapping station. Everything is conveniently close by and rather appealing to the eye when supplies are not in use.
Our Suzanne Kasler Antler Stocking Holders are a unique touch to Sarah’s fireplace. These add a rustic feel to her mantel while continuing the modern design throughout her home. We love seeing how our customers add their personal touches to get creative around the holidays.
