Feature Friday: Behind the “Seams” of Our New Retail Store

We are all smiles at Ballard Designs because our most recent retail store just opened!  The beginning of March marked the official opening of our store in Natick Mall, right outside of Boston, Massachusetts. The retail expansion is an exciting venture for us as we love giving our customers a chance to see and feel our products before making a big purchase.

Since we only have a few retail stores open right now, we thought it would be fun to give you a glimpse behind the “seams” to see what our stores actually look like… and what you can look forward to if you plan on coming to shop with us!

As you walk through the doors, you step right into our catalog. The rooms in the pages are mimicked on the floor, similar to a showroom, and change five times a year to reflect our new offerings. You are encouraged to try out the furniture so you can choose the items that work best for you and your lifestyle.

We offer plenty of accessories and bedding that you can purchase on the spot. Since a lot of our pieces are customizable, we display various options to inspire your inner decorator. You can make your choices and order while you are in the store.

We recently added in-store monogramming, which comes in handy when purchasing gifts. You can personalize totes, pillow covers, and much more. Make it your own!

Our Fabric Walls give you the ability to take a large swatch over to a piece of furniture and get a clear idea of the final product. If you aren’t so sure about what you want, we offer consulting with our Design Solutions Center. This service is right in the middle of the store and you can’t miss it! Here, you can take any and all swatches (fabric, rug, and wood finishes), and ask for design advice. Your Ballard Design Consultant will stay with you through your entire project to ensure the process is seamless.

We hosted a grand opening party to celebrate our new home! There was plenty of music, lots of giveaways, and tons of fun throughout the night. A DJ, a photobooth, and an enticing raffle kept the party going. We are so happy to finally open our doors in Natick Mall and cannot wait for our next stop. Psst… Roosevelt Field Mall in New York is our next destination!

We recorded two bonus episodes of our podcast with designer Erin Gates and architect Katie Hutchison during opening week. Some of our event guests mentioned they are big fans of the podcast, so we had to sneak some photos with them. A big thank you to everyone who came to help us celebrate!

Ballard loves Boston!

Pics look beautiful! Often visited your beautiful store in Jacksonville FL when daughter was a student at UNF. Any chance of a store in the West Palm Beach area?
