Sunroom Entry

Hello Design team-

We have a sunroom entry that I’d really like some help with. I’ve enclosed several pictures to get the angles but the room itself is probably 12 x 12 with windows and french doors and a somewhat raised ceiling. I’m specifically looking to pick a cushion fabric and pillows for the corner bench. We are hoping to use it year round so would prefer something that appears warm and inviting year round and not necessarily look “summery”. The steps go up into a wide open kitchen and will also be tiled…(not finished currently)…the kitchen is a cilantro green so we could tie in this color but not required… We are also doubling the space as a mudroom/ entry so was hoping it could be multipurpose…if possible. What do you suggest?

I was wondering what you’d suggest for furniture?  Items to hang on the wall? We love our floor and the pattern so not sure about a rug to block it but would probably need welcome mats minimally…but something warm and somewhat dirt resistant but still that fits into the design of the room… In general love a gardeny tuscan feel which is offered in most of your accessories…

We originally thought of a bistro table to sit for coffee, etc…but wanted to be able to sit on the bench ( that will be cushioned) and access it. So were wondering about an ottoman with a tray on it instead? We are fine with a dark wicker..nothing too formal but maybe not too “porchy” either. (Love the Corsica Outdoor ottoman)…in a fabric to coordinate with the bench fabric…

I also wondered about window treatments?  would prefer not too BLOCK the windows themselves but I love some of your light cotton breezy panels that would work well framing them and hung high…love the belle vigne crewel…but maybe too dressy?  Was hoping they were sheer…

I’m open to any and all suggestions you may have. I tried to take pics of the room from all angles to get the full feel of the layout. Just looking for some touches to give this canvas a “finished” look so we can enjoy it soon.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions you may have.

Dear Jennifer:

Thank you for your Sunroom Dilemma.  We just love the “cottage look” of the addition.  Our first thought is to have you make a cushion from our Small Sage Check fabric.  You can add some pillows in the sage check, apple green velvet, burlap – and we love making our Antique Hare Pillow the center of attention, for a touch of whimsy.  You asked about a scatter rug, and the Antique Hare also comes in a scatter rug for a really custom look.  We thought two our Sawhorse End Tables in black placed in front of your bench would look great.  They will also give you versatility because of their smaller size.  Try painting some baskets sage green to fit into the cubby holes below the bench.  They will really keep storage items looking neat.

As far as the windows, our café panels in sage check should fit the bill.  You can also add our sage check panels on the French doors for a custom look.  You also asked about a small bistro table and we think our 24” café table and 2 chairs would be perfect.  If you have room, you may want to consider our Beadboard Entry Cabinets in black.  They canl provide storage for coats, hats, etc.  Lastly, some ideas for the walls, we have always loved our Italian Garden Rounds and think our large one would look fab above the bench.  Our collection of Safety Pins by Suzanne Kasler is another “fun” group to hang on the wall.   You can even wire some dried flowers and a straw hat onto the pins for additional warmth.

We hope our ideas are helpful in motivating you to complete such a wonderful space.  It has so many possibilities.  Let us know what you think – we love your feedback!  Of course, we would love pictures when you finish.

Sincerely,
The Style Studio
