During the dreary days of winter, we’re looking for energy, impact, and drama. Anything to spice up our lives! In our Winter 2020 catalog, we choose dramatic paint colors — vibrant front doors, dark ceilings, black mouldings — and vibrant greens to bring a vibrant feel to the spaces. We hope you’ll love these rooms, and find color inspiration from our paint color choices.
Please be aware that color may vary due to various light conditions, finish and other factors. It’s always a great idea to test a paint sample on your wall first.
Sherwin Williams, Arugula #6446
We’ve been loving green and the way it brings the natural world into a space. Whether you’re accenting with a door color or an all over wall paint, Arugula from Sherwin Williams is sure to inject leafy green into your space. We love it with bright white furniture and navy.
Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black #6258
We love taking risks with paint because if you make a mistake, it’s an easy fix! Rather than a classic white chair rail and wainscoting, we chose a deep black from Sherwin Williams. Tricorn Black works beautifully with a patterned wallpaper to create drama in this dining room.
Sherwin Williams Curry #6671
Beiges and browns get a bad rap, but when we used Sherwin Williams Curry wall color (a rich gold color, just like the spice), neutrals feel energized and fresh.
Sherwin Williams Pewter Green #6208
Soften up a dark green by adding in gray, like Sherwin Williams Pewter Green. We love the way this dark wall colors creates a cocoon, perfect for sleeping in! This gray green is the perfect balance between a neutral and a color.
Sherwin Williams Naval #6244
A deep, dark navy blue is such a versatile paint color. Put it on the ceiling for a dramatic effect, or paint it all over (mouldings, crown, and everything). It goes with nearly any shade of blue, plus neutrals like grays, beiges, and whites.
Sherwin Williams Elephant Ear #9168
Finding the right gray can be tricky, but in this space, we love one with a little bit of brown in it. It adds a warmth to the room and works beautifully with washed wood tones and grays. Plus, it’s the perfect backdrop for an accent of blush pink.
Sherwin Williams Inkwell #6992
Usually black wall colors either veer toward green or navy, and for this space, we choose a near-black navy blue, Sherwin Williams Inkwell #6992. It sets off white cabinetry and feels dramatic!
Sisal Twill Wallpaper in Blue
Surprise! This may seem like a perfect blue paint color, but it’s actually a woven wallpaper, our Sisal Twill wallpaper. It adds a subtle texture to the walls and lends a formality to the space.
Thin Lines Wallpaper in Blue
Look closely and you’ll see, this teal blue wall color is actually a textured wallpaper as well! We chose it because it perfectly coordinates with our signature velvet fabric which we used on our seating.

Hi I’m trying to decorate a small room that I turned into a walk in shoes closet. I would like to put a throw rug and ottoman in center. The size of room is 8ft by 12 ft. What size throw rug should I get and should it be round or square/rectangle.??

I love the Arugala door in the entryway. Part of the reason I love it is the contrast with the cream walls. Do you know the color on the walls?
Caroline McDonald
Michelle,
Unfortunately we don’t know what white this is. Sorry!
